This series is designed for the purpose of providing paraprofessional positions, which are involved in the various methods of collecting money from lendees. The lower levels in this series are involved in the day-to- day collection process. While the upper levels are responsible to various degrees in the determination, implementation, enforcement and management of University, department or agency policies and procedures in the collection process. The duties of a position may include supervision; however, the inclusion of supervision as a duty does not thereby automatically qualify a position for a higher classification, even if supervision constitutes a major portion of the duties. The supervision exercised by an employee may contribute to advancement to a higher level when the employee has the responsibility for the supervision (that is, independently or jointly hires, terminates, trains, completes formal written performance evaluations, determines work assignments, resolves employee discipline problems, and approves leave time) of one or more full-time-equivalent employees performing collection duties as defined in this series.
