Chicago State University

Mission

The mission of Chicago State Foundation is to advance the interest and welfare of CSU by building relationships, securing philanthropic support, stewarding assets and otherwise procuring private support on behalf of the University.

Working in concert with the President of CSU, Chicago State Foundation helps to identify strategic priorities, raise public awareness for the University and secure private support to create new opportunities for students.

Work

CSU and Chicago State Foundation are proud to serve an energetic, diverse and growing student population. Seventy-eight percent of our students are African American and Latin, and sixty-one percent are first-generation college students. Unrestricted gifts made to Chicago State Foundation serve two primary purposes: scholarships for high-performing students in need, and innovative programming to enhance the student experience at CSU.

To achieve our mission, we rely on the support of alumni, friends, and community members. We are also proud to partner with local and national foundations and corporations who believe in the power of Chicago State to shape the lives of our students. Housed inside the Chicago State Foundation is the Univeristy's Office of Alumni Affairs, working to further strengthen these individual and corporate connections to grow support and expand opportunities for current students.
