It is truly a special moment to celebrate your achievement with the support of your
family and friends. We are committed to ensuring that you, your guests, and your fellow
graduates all experience this milestone in a meaningful way.
Please take a moment to review the information below, along with the Commencement
Day Information for Guests. These guidelines are in place to help ensure a smooth
and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Ceremony Location
The commencement ceremony will take place at:

Chicago, IL
Parking is available in several campus locations. A live webcast will be available for family and friends who are unable to attend in person.
Ceremonial Etiquette
The University is committed to maintaining a dignified and respectful academic ceremony
for all graduates and their guests. We ask that you be mindful of others who have
worked hard to reach this moment.
- Please refrain from yelling, shouting, or whistling until all graduates have been
individually recognized on stage.
- All cell phones should be silenced and remain off during the ceremony.
Important Guidelines
- No bullhorns allowed
- No balloons or large gifts permitted inside the venue
- No photography or videotaping in the front, side, or middle aisles
- No backpacks, concealed weapons, or firearms allowed in the convention center
- No strollers permitted
- Children are not allowed to sit with graduates or accompany graduates on stage
- All guests must have a ticket for entry, including children ages 2 and older; infants
and toddlers may sit on a guardian’s lap
- Please do not bring strollers, as space is limited and aisles must remain clear at
all times
- Saving seats is not permitted; seating is first come, first served and not guaranteed
for late arrivals
- Guests are expected to remain seated for the duration of the ceremony
