Virtual Commencement Day

Commencement

Congratulations to the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2020 graduates!

You have so much to proud of and Chicago State University would like to celebrate this milestone with you during a Virtual Commencement Ceremony to be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

COVID-19 has not been kind to us and has a major impact on how we must safely celebrate our achievements. The Chicago State University Fall 2020 Commencement will consist of all students who have completed their degrees during the Spring 2020 semester, Summer 2020 sessions, and Fall 2020 semester as each of you deserve to be celebrated.

As the Chicago State University online ceremony is an opportunity for the university to celebrate your success, the virtual celebration will feature remarks by President Z Scott, Keynote Speaker Mayor Lori Lightfoot, and remarks by the selected graduates, and most importantly each participating graduate will be featured in the Virtual Commencement Ceremony.

Graduating students who wish to participate in this virtual event will be invited on campus to take graduation photos which can be purchased. The Graduate Photoshoot is scheduled for November 16th and 17th, 2020. These photos will be used for the ceremony. Due to Covid-19, photo shoots will be scheduled.  Face masks must be worn to the photo shoot, and social distancing will be practiced.  However, you will remove your mask for the photo.  To participate in the virtual ceremony, there is a $20.00 fee.

Payments should be made to the CSU Cashier’s Office by calling (773) 995-2029.

Graduating students are asked to wear all black for the photo shoot. Each student will be given a University stole that can be worn for photos. Green stoles for undergraduates and White stoles for graduate students.

You will also receive a graduate congratulations package from the university which will consist of a diploma cover, CSU stole, Commencement Program, a special gift from the Alumni Association, and if applicable, your honor cord.
