Research:

Dr. Jonathan López-Matos is a Health Psychologist and educator committed to advancing health equity for ethnoracial, sexual, and gender minority communities. His research develops interventions to reduce HIV acquisition and improve mental health, particularly anxiety and depression, among BIPOC and Hispanic/Latinx immigrant LGBTQ+ populations. Using quantitative methods, implementation science, and community-based participatory research, he works with communities in Puerto Rico, New York City, and Chicago to address barriers to care and promote well-being. Dedicated to student success, he mentors emerging scholars and helps them connect classroom learning with their research interests and career goals.
