Chicago State University Quizbowl Team Reached the Quarterfinals
Chicago State University's Quizbowl Team reached the quarterfinals in the Honda Challenge
national qualifying tournament and championship that took place on March 6, 2021. Continuing our 21-year tradition of participation, Chicago State University was one
of 64 schools that participated in the 2021 annual Honda Campus All-Star Challenge
(HCASC) national qualification tournament. This premier academic competition for
historically and primarily black colleges and universities is sponsored by American
Honda, Inc.
The team reached the quarterfinals, with a 2-2 overall record. This is the fifth
time our team has reached the playoffs. Senior Music major Jaylin Shelton is the
team captain. Gabriel Brown (Physics) and Marshall Gibson (CMAT) round-out the CSU
team. Dr. Olanipekun Laosebikan, Assistant Professor, Advanced Studies in Education
is the Coach. Mr. Brandon Morgan is the Assistant Coach.
