CSU Physics Student Presents His Research at the American Physical Society 2020 April Meeting

Ryan Stempek

The American Physical Society’s (APS) 2020 April meeting was scheduled to be held in Washington, DC. Due to current stay-at-home orders, the format has been changed to a virtual meeting to be held April 18 – 21st.

Ryan Stempek, an undergraduate senior physics student, is presenting his research at the APS meeting. Ryan spent last summer at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) increasing his knowledge in physics while working on hardware and data analysis for the Fast Interaction Trigger (FIT) detector. He will present on his contribution to the ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) upgrade.

The work with ALICE is part of CSU professors Dr. Garcia and Dr. Harton’s research program, funded by the National Science Foundation.

We know Ryan will do well and make us CSU Proud!
