Ali Kleiche, senior undergraduate student was awarded the Lincoln Laureate Award for achieving academic excellence while staying civically engaged in the community.
Ali is majoring in International Relations and is originally from Morocco, fluent in English, Arabic and French. His academic interests include economic equality and social justice across the world. He has demonstrated a commitment to leadership and service throughout his college career.
Ali transferred to Chicago State from Harold Washington College where he completed his Associate of Arts degree. While completing his Bachelor's degree, Ali has been an active member of the Honors College, a senator for the CSU Student Government Association, and a leader on Chicago State's team for the Honda Campus Academic Challenge.
Prior to coming to CSU, Ali was president of the United Nations Association college chapter at Harold Washington College, where he organized campus events focusing on the UN global goals and aimed to help inner-city students develop an international perspective on social issues. Based on this work, Ali was named a United Nations Association Campus Fellow for the Midwest Region for 2018-2019, and he was also a student intern at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. He also recently participated in a study abroad program at Princess Sumaya University of Technology in Amman, Jordan.
Ali received a Lincoln medallion and a $1,000 check during a ceremony in Springfield, IL for his notable achievement.
