CSU students and faculty from the Physics Program traveled to Providence, Rhode Island to attend the National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP) 2019 conference. It is one of the largest academic meetings of minority physicists in the United States, the conference brought together over a thousand students in physics and astronomy, and renowned scientists.
The goal of the conference is to provide mentorship, access to recruiters, networking and inform the broader physics community on best practices. CSU students Orelle Bulgin (junior), Isaiah Morgan (senior), Ryan Stempek (senior) and Tiffany Tucker (junior) attended the conference with Professor Dr. J. Peters and Dr. Lionel Pittman. Each student gave both poster and oral presentations, which resulted in thoughtful discussions for conference attendees.
