Chicago State University held its annual spring open house on Saturday, April 20, 2019. The Open House included tours, information sessions and an employer panel discussion attracting hundreds of prospective students and families from surrounding states (Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio).
The diverse employer panel included professionals and CSU alumni from the fields of healthcare, business, education and communications. Panelist discussed workforce needs and trends to help prospective students understand how their academic success will translate as professionals. Executives and managers from Hyatt Hotels (Tyronne Stoudemire, Vice President), U.S. Coast Guard (Commander Zeita Merchant), World Business Chicago ( Robye Scot, Manager), Cook County Health (Barbara Pryor, Chief of Human Resources), Northwestern University (Dr. Inger Burnett-Zeigler, Asst. Professor), Spark Foundry (Keisha Hooks, Assoc. Director), Chicago State University (Dr. Tiffany Davis, Assoc. Professor) TLDP (Levon James, Consultant) and Loments, Inc. (Dr. Venkata Majeti, CEO) were participated in the discussion.
Open House festivities wrapped up with lunch and a musical concert by the CSU Music department.
