College Changes Everything

President Scott, College Changes EverythingToday, in Tinley Park, IL President Scott gave a Flash Talk at the College Changes Everything Conference hosted by the Illinois Student Aid Commission (ISAC).  The state of Illinois’ premier college access and success conference focused on effective practices and resources available to help with increasing college access and completion for students.  With an audience of over 500, President Scott addressed the need for equity in higher education and the vital role Chicago State University plays in higher education both regionally and nationally.  “Equity, as a value, is at the heart and soul of what Chicago State is all about”, said President Scott during her talk.  For those high school counselors, principals and community college administrators that did not know that Chicago State University is:

  • Ranked 1st in Illinois and tied 2nd nationwide among public universities for educating and supporting African American students;
  • Ranked the #1 Midwest Pharmacy School for educating minority students by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy;
  • Ranked 3rd in the nation by number of African American physics graduates each year by the American Physics Society; and
  • Has 100% job placement within 6 months for graduates in nursing, education, occupational therapy, and pharmacy, and 90% job placement rates in chemistry

President Scott shared this knowledge to demonstrate that CSU is working hard to overcome historical challenges and ensure student success.  Chicago State is moving forward.  Join us on this journey!
