CSU Celebrates 356th Commencement Ceremony

Chicago State University celebrated it's 356^th Commencement Ceremony on Thursday May 14, 2015. Over 800 students walked across the stage to receive their diploma and later celebrated with family and friends in the Jones Convocation Center.

The May 2015 ceremony featured a proud CSU alum as the commencement speaker. Mr. Marlow Colvin earned a degree in 2000 shortly before being elected to his first term as State Representative of the 33rd District in the Illinois House of Representatives. After serving in House leadership, Colvin moved on to become Vice President of Academic Affairs at Commonwealth Edison where he works today.

Colvin gave an uplifting and inspirational speech to the new graduates, recalling the many CSU alumni who have gone on to great success and challenging the class of 2015 to continue the tradition of CSU graduates having an impact on the world around them.
