Entrepreneurial Idol 2014 Winners!
What started with dozens of entries from various entrepreneurs from across the business
spectrum boiled down to three winners of the 2014 Entrepreneurial Idol competition
on Friday. The event was co-sponsored by Chicago State University College of Business
and U.S. Senator Mark Kirk.
Five finalists were chosen in the annual business plan competition with the top three
winners splitting a total of $12,000 in prize money for their business investment.
After hearing detailed presentations, the three finalist judges.Veranda Dickens from
Seaway Bank and Trust Company, Emmett Vaughn from Exelon Corporation, and Robert “Bob”
Blackwell from Blackwell Global Consulting, chose the winners:

1st prize ($7,500) - Million Dollar Scholar - An education technology venture that
offers an instructive e‐platform to help schools and parents guide their students
through the scholarship and financial aid process to make higher education affordable.

2nd Prize ($3,500) - University Football Rentals – A service to provide college football
fans across the country with quality lodging for football weekends in college towns.
- 3rd Prize ($1,000) - Küdzoo – A mobile app that allows students to turn their good
grades into discounts at local and national businesses in addition to opportunities
at once-in-a-lifetime-experiences.
