IBHE (Illinois Board of Higher Education)
The Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) is the coordinating body of all institutions
of higher education in the State of Illinois. IBHE provides information on enrollment,
degrees awarded, programs, and institutional cost for all institutions of higher education
in the state (both public and private).
IAIR (Illinois Association for Institutional Research)
The Illinois Association for Institutional Research (IAIR) is an association for institutional
researchers to collaborate, learn and gain knowledge about collecting and interpreting
data at postsecondary institutions in the state. It mirrors the larger association
(AIR) and provides professional development to its members. It hosts a series of workshops
at its annual fall meeting to report on new methods and content in institutional research.
AIR (Association for Institutional Research)
The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) is the world's largest professional
organization for institutional researchers. The organization is centered on providing
educational resources, best practices and professional-development opportunities the
Institutional Research community. AIR has more than 4,000 members. Its primary purpose
is to provide support its members in the process of facilitating quality, data-informed
decisions for the enhancement of higher education.
NCES (National Center for Education Statistics)
The National Center for Education Statistics is the sole federal entity for collecting
and analyzing data related to education in the U.S. and other nations. The purpose
of NCES is to provide statistical data to serve the educational research communities.
NCES has an extensive Statistical Standards Program that consults and advises on methodological
and statistical aspects involved in the design, collection, and analysis of data collections.
NCES provides consultation to Data Cooperatives, and to other offices within the Department
of Education.
