COVID-19 Training & Precautions
July 31, 2020
Dear CSU Community,
Hopefully by now you have had an opportunity to review the Fall 2020 Semester Operating
Plan and Appendix. These documents are important to your understanding of the campus
operations and efforts to protect your health and safety. As we prepare to bring more
employees back to campus and the start of the fall semester, we wanted to provide
an update on precautions the campus is making and safety measures our campus community
will take in order to protect everyone's well being. CSU is committed to taking all
the actions necessary to provide a safe learning and working environment.
Before You Return
- In accordance with the Operating Plan, you must complete this health and safety training on essential measures we must all take and provide the certificate of completion to
your department chair or manager.
- When on campus, you are required to wear a mask unless you are in a private office
and maintaining social distancing between others in that office.
Precautions by CSU
- While the full description of safety measures is outlined in our CSU Fall Operating
Plan, we wanted to highlight information that some of you have asked about.
- We have installed hand sanitizer stations at convenient locations across campus.
- Offices that receive frequent visitors have received sneeze guards.
- Every office suite will have cleaning supplies for cleaning of frequently touched
surfaces.
- We are cleaning all spaces and have developed a protocol for the cleaning of classrooms
after each session. Common open spaces will be cleaned and disinfected twice
daily.
- The ventilation system will be updated to meet enhanced standards set by the CDC.
- If you or someone else needs a mask, ask your supervisor. We ask that you bring a
mask to work, but understand there may be times where you need a mask.
Masks will also be available at parking booths.
- There may be more specific guidelines related to specific areas such as the residence
halls, lab spaces, etc.
You are encouraged to review the CSU Fall 2020 Operating Plan and Appendix, which
outline the range of strategies CSU is using to follow local, state, and federal guidelines
and policies. These documents are on Moodle and Cougar Connect. If you have any other
concerns that your manager cannot field, please email coronavirus@csu.edu and we will respond promptly.
We look forward to seeing you all from at least six feet away. Thank you for your
steadfast support for the CSU community.
Warmly,
President Z. Scott & Interim Provost Roundtree
