CIMST Students Participate in DrupalCon Chicago 2026
Six undergraduate Computer Science students from the Department of Computing, Information and Mathematical Sciences, and Technology (CIMST) at Chicago State University recently participated in DrupalCon Chicago 2026, a premier global conference focused on open-source content management and web technologies, held from March 23–26, 2026 in Chicago.
This opportunity was made possible through the efforts of Dr. Mohammad Abdus Salam, Professor and Chairman of the CIMST Department, who actively facilitated student participation in this impactful professional event.

As part of the conference, the students attended the intensive “Drupal in a Day” program on March 26, 2026, where they engaged in hands-on learning experiences designed to introduce and strengthen their understanding of Drupal and modern content management systems. The full-day session provided a highly interactive environment, enabling students to explore key concepts in web development, site building, and digital content management.

Students described the experience as both engaging and informative. The program not only enhanced their technical knowledge but also fostered collaboration and networking opportunities with professionals and peers from the broader technology community. These interactions allowed students to gain valuable industry insights and exposure to real-world applications of web technologies.

Overall, participation in DrupalCon Chicago 2026 was a highly valuable experience for CIMST students. It expanded their skill sets, deepened their understanding of Drupal, and inspired them to continue building their expertise in web development and content management systems.

CIMST remains committed to providing students with experiential learning opportunities that bridge academic knowledge with industry practice.
