Welcome to the College of Pharmacy

ATTENTION: The Chicago State University College of Pharmacy has received Precandidate accreditation status from ACPE. See our full accreditation disclosure statement for details.
Several years of planning and effort by many dedicated individuals has resulted in the establishment of the Chicago State University College of Pharmacy (CSU-COP).
This year has yielded many significant highlights: approval of the establishment of the College of Pharmacy and its Doctor of Pharmacy program by the Illinois Board of Higher Education and submission of our application for the regional accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities (NCA) and the beginning of renovations to the top floor of Douglas Hall which will house the program. During the 2007-2008 academic year we received Precandidate accreditation status from the Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and recruited our academic leadership team for the College. We will continue to select additional faculty, and have selected an excellent group of students to be members of our inaugural class, the Class of 2012. All of these will come together in August 2008 with the start of classes at CSU-COP.
The profession of pharmacy is at the pinnacle in its history. Pharmacists are among the most respected professionals within our nation and play a significant role as a member of the health care team. There is an increasing demand for graduate pharmacists in an environment that allows students to pursue many new and outstanding career paths within the profession. As a pharmacist you will have the opportunity to affect the lives of your community. We look forward to providing a responsive educational experience that will allow outstanding pharmacists to take their places within the profession.
