Chicago (May 10, 2016)- In an effort to prioritize scholarship funds, Chicago State University’s (CSU) held its’ annual fundraiser gala, co-hosted by ABC 7 news anchor Karen Jordan and NBC 5 reporter Christian Farr which raised more than $12,000.00 for students majoring in education at the university. “The annual scholarship fundraiser is a momentous occasion for the university.  It’s an opportunity for us to recognize and celebrate extraordinary leaders who have partnered with and supported the College of Education, said Dr. Satasha Green, Dean of the College of Education.  “All of the honorees have been great supporters of the College including alumni.  We are fortunate to have such an esteemed group connect with our university”.

Attendees received mardi gras mask, beads, dinner, drinks and participated in a silent auction.  Among seven awardees, CSU alumna Dr. Janice Jackson, Chief Executive Officer for Chicago Public Schools was honored.
