Watch Chicago State University professor Jonathan Jackson discuss the recent controversy surrounding the treatment of the Jackie Robinson West youth baseball team who won the 2014 Little League National Championship and had their title stripped for alleged boundary violations.

In his lecture, Jackson drew historical parallels to challenges faced by other children at the same young age and pointed to the unique and serious issues of violence, poverty and discrimination faced by all children and families on the south side of Chicago.

"They are the champions, there is no doubt about that," Jackson said. "The children have played. Their ages were appropriate. Their skill was par excellence. The children have won, this is an adult discussion we simply need to have"
