Rev. Al Sharpton Holds Community Leadership Breakfast

Rev. Al Sharpton visited Chicago State University this week to hold a Community Leadership Breakfast with several area ministers, community leaders and activists as well as several members of the CSU family.

Sharpton, known world-wide as social justice activist, spoke about the need to address violence and poverty in black communities throughout the nation and highlighted the importance of CSU and the City of Chicago in leading that effort.

CSU President Dr. Wayne D. Watson gave opening remarks welcoming all the dignitaries and discussing the impact the University has on surrounding communities. Sharpton then led a spirited round table discussion on solutions to the challenges faced in urban areas.
