Laborer, Maintenance

Under direct supervision from a Grounds Foreman and/or foremen of other crafts, to perform unskilled labor in the upkeep of buildings and grounds.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

1. Cultivates and cares for shrubbery, trees, flowers, and lawns
2. Transplants and removes trees
3. Builds and removes fences
4. Shovels snow and ice from sidewalks and other areas as directed
5. Moves equipment, books, and supplies as required
6. Assists in construction (not in excess of 50 percent of employment time)
7. Performs other related duties as assigned
