The Department of Health Information Administration (HIA) appreciates your visit to our webpage. Thank you for considering Chicago State University to pursue a career in health information management and administration. This is an exciting time to engage your aspirations as a health information professional given the increased focus on healthcare privacy and security, healthcare data analytics and the evolving technologies in the electronic health record and coding classification systems.  The Health Information Management skillset offers the intersections between medical science, technology and business.

A career in health information offers a challenging, exciting and rewarding career choice.  Students are prepared to assume employment in a variety of traditional and non-traditional organizations.
