The median salary for Information Systems Analyst in 2017 was $88,270 per year and the employment is projected to grow 9% between 2016 and 2026. The median salary for Database Administrators in 2017 was $87,020 per year and the employment is projected to grow 11% between 2016 and 2026. The median salary for a Software Developer in 2017 was $103,560 per year and the employment is projected to grow 24% between 2016 and 2026. The median salary for Web Developer in 2017 was $67,990 per year and the employment is projected to grow 15% between 2016 and 2026. The median salary for Network Manager in 2017 was $81,100 per year and the employment is projected to grow 6% between 2016 and 2026.

Who is it for?

Post-Baccalaureate MIS Certificate is designed for individuals who want to acquire specific MIS skills to meet the needs or demands of their workplace. The following are examples of students who can benefit from the program:

• Individuals with no formal prior MIS education who want to learn about a particular IT technology or concept to become a knowledgeable user of IT and the person in the organization who can successfully interact with technology professionals.

• Individuals who have graduated from an MIS or related program several years ago who can use the Certificate in MIS program to stay current with technology changes.

Post-Baccalaureate MIS Certificate Requirements:

The post-baccalaureate MIS Certificate program consists of three required courses with a minimum grade of B in each course. The post-baccalaureate MIS Certificate program offers five concentrations:

Concentration #1: Database Management

This track discusses the role and importance of the databases in a corporate setting. Design techniques and methods of development are also covered

Concentration #2: Project Management and System Analysis

This track discusses the role and importance of the systems analyst in a corporate setting. Design techniques and methods of development are also covered.

• INSY 4200 Project Management Principles and Practices

Concentration #3: Web Development

This track focuses on the development of Internet technology on a global level. Students discuss the effect of Internet technology on international business. Design techniques and methods of development are also covered.

Concentration #4: E-Commerce

In this track, students are taught the function and role of the Internet in relation to the global market. It trains students to successfully design, maintain and manage electronic commerce systems as well.
