A: Classes are generally taking place as planned, with some classes taught by another
instructor, during the strike. CSU will make every effort to notify you by email,
through Moodle, and a sign on the classroom door if class is canceled.
CSU will monitor whether faculty intend to teach assigned classes and attendance will
be taken at each class. If there is not a substitute teacher, you will be advised
on next steps
The University is fully committed to our students, and our primary objective is to
continue normal operations to the fullest extent possible, including minimizing disruptions
to instructional programming.

A: Yes, you should attend class. CSU will notify you if there is a change in your course
schedule through email, Moodle, and a sign on the classroom door.
In the case that a faculty member or substitute does not show up for class, CSU will
have a staff member come by within the first 15 minutes of class to advise you on
next steps.
|
A: Please wait for at least 15 minutes before leaving, and then contact the department
or college that houses the class or lab. CSU plans on having staff visit classes without
instructors within 15 minutes to advise students on next steps. |
A: Responses to missed classes will be handled at the departmental level. While it is
impossible to predict exactly what will happen and describe all possible responses,
the campus has made a concerted effort to plan for a variety of contingencies.
Our goal is to ensure that students receive the grades and credits earned for those
classes in which they are enrolled. We are making plans to facilitate campus remaining
in operation and the timely release of grades.
|
A: The decision to strike is up to each faculty member. Union members are not required
to inform CSU whether they will strike and the university is not permitted to inquire
about their status. The number of classes, labs and students that may be affected
is unclear and depends on the level of participation in the strike.
