Greetings from CSU Admissions

Carlos GoodenAs the new Director of Admissions and Recruitment, I would like to introduce myself and share how Chicago State University is prepared to partner and make the admissions process as seamless as possible. These are remarkable times, and admissions is excited to launch this blog series to help keep you informed on your options for enrolling at Chicago State University. Whether it is learning how to start your own business, coming to take a few classes to remain competitive in the workplace, or completing your next academic credential, CSU admissions is here to assist, advise, and support you during this time. Our offices remain open as Enrollment Specialists work remotely to answer your questions. I am excited to share some of the latest ways we are supporting students through this unprecedented time:

  • CSU has adopted a test-optional policy for the Summer and Fall 2020 terms. The submission of ACT or SAT scores is optional for students with a grade point average of 2.75 or higher.
  • CSU is accepting unofficial transcripts for admissions decisions. If offered admissions, students must produce their official transcript, from a school official, by August 1, 2020.
  • Enrollment Specialists are available Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm via email or 773.995.2513.
  • We are also to chat with you live, in real-time, through our UCHAT function from 10am -3pm Monday through Friday. It’s a great way to connect virtually as we all continue to practice social distancing.

At Chicago State University, we continue our commitment to achieve equity and access to opportunities  for our students. I encourage you to visit the CSU COVID-19 Update page for additional updates. If the admissions team can be of any assistance, don’t hesitate to contact us with questions.

Educationally yours,

Carlos A. Gooden, PhD
