Chicago State University has been accredited by HLC since 1941. The University has recently been placed on Notice due to remaining challenges associated with financial resources and planning following the Illinois State budget impasse. More details about this sanction can be found at the Commission's website by clicking here.

The HLC evaluation team will review the institution’s ongoing ability to meet HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation in January 23-24, 2017.

Chicago State University, College of Education is hosting an accreditation visit by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) on October 13-15, 2019. Interested parties are invited to submit third-party comments to the site team. Please note that comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of professional education programs offered, and should specify the party's relationship to the provider (i.e., graduate, present or former faculty member, employer of graduates).
