Army ROTC Mission

Leadership ExcellenceThe U.S. Army Cadet Command selects, educates, trains, and commissions college students to be officers and leaders of character in the Total Army; instills the values of citizenship, national and community service, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment in high school students.

Here at Chicago State University we understand leadership is one of the primary skills that employers look for in college graduates. Several academic majors may include leadership classes in their curriculum, however those classes primarily focus on the theoretical aspects of leadership. While we agree that theoretical concepts are important in developing as a leader, in CSU Army ROTC we provide hundreds of hours of practical leadership experience. Upon graduation, our leaders are ready to lead teams in chosen fields of study as well as leading Soldiers in the United State Army.
