Thanks to You, the Welcome Reception was a Huge Success!
Over 62 new and returning graduate students, faculty and staff of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies attended the 2010 Welcome Reception. Students talked and mingled with one another and faculty while enjoying coffee and cake during the networking hour. The Orientation Program, lead by Dr. Justin K. Akujieze, Dean of the Graduate School, was held in the adjacent auditorium and featured a discussion on Research Integrity given by Dr. Sarah Austin, OTRL and also a talk on LIbrary and Information Services Research Resources by Professor Gabrielle Toth. The event ended with a New Orleans style buffet, and Mardi Gras music.
The School of Graduate and Professional Student Welcome Reception and Orientation is a free event that provides new and current Master's and Doctoral students the occasion to receive an overview on how to be successful in graduate school and provide access to school resources and services. The event occurs annually in the Fall of each year.
