GRADUATE ADMISSION
Prospective students who wish to enroll at Chicago State University by taking a few graduate level courses before committing to a degree program, should apply for admission to CSU as a graduate-at-large student.
To apply, submit the one-page application and proof of a baccalaureate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution. This proof can be a copy of the diploma or final transcript. However, it is advised that students who wish to enroll in graduate courses do bring a photocopy of their transcripts for prerequisite verification. Applicants must pay a one-time application-processing fee of $25.
Admission/Registration Restrictions
Graduate-at-large students are ineligible for any form of financial assistance. There are restrictions on both the age and the number of credits (12 credit hours) earned in graduate-at-large status that may be later accepted in a degree program. Students who plan to apply to a degree program in the near future, should obtain course approval from the department supervising the prospective program. A copy of theGraduate Student Catalog should be obtained for official information.
Visiting/Summer School Students
During the summer months students admitted to institutions other than CSU may attend as summer only graduate students. Summer non degree students complete a short application process and present proof of degree.
