In addition to his staunch support of CSU’s pharmacy and nursing programs, Hampton has mentored several CSU students in the health sciences, and serves as an advocate for healthy communities in Chicago.

The Gala raises funds to support scholarships, infrastructure and technology enhancements that benefit the entire campus community. This year’s theme, “Investing in the Future of Healthcare,” highlighted Chicago State University’s leadership in educating health care professionals and piloting research and transformative health initiatives for residents in the City of Chicago.

For the past 14 years, hundreds of Chicago area business and community leaders have supported the Gala named for the Friends of CSU Scholars Program initiative, which pairs top CSU students with corporate executive mentors. Past honorees include Larry Richman, former President and CEO of LaSalle Bank, and Bill Osborn, President and CEO of Northern Trust. This year’s gala raised more than $350,000 for the University.
