CSU Invites Students to “Discover the CSU Difference”
Chicago State University Hosts Open House

(CHICAGO – SEPTEMBER 29, 2008) - Chicago State University (CSU) invites the Chicagoland community to Discover the CSU Difference during its Open House, Saturday, October 4, 2008 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the New Academic Library, Fourth Floor Auditorium, 9501 S. King Drive. The $25 application fee will be waived for all applications submitted during the Open House.

Interim President Frank G. Pogue, Ph.D., will welcome prospective students and their families before they get an in-depth look at CSU’s challenging academic programs, one-on-one discussions with faculty, staff and students. Representatives from all university colleges, including the new College of Pharmacy, will be available to elaborate on opportunities available in their fields of study. In addition, the Career Development Department will be on hand with data regarding employment trends, to help students who are unsure their career interests.

“We are truly elated to welcome the community to Chicago State University and learn about what we have to offer students,” said Addie Epps, director of undergraduate admissions. “Our role is to help students understand the steps involved in attaining a post-secondary education; it can be challenging transitioning from high school to college. This Open House will provide a chance for us to be proactive in ensuring that the needs of students and their families are met.”

Information on application requirements, admission processes, scholarship and financing opportunities will also be available. The radio station, La Kalle, 103.1/93.5 FM, will give away concert tickets and broadcast live from 10 a.m. until noon. Residence hall tours, light refreshments and give-a-ways will also be available.
