UPWARD BOUND/ PROJECT FAME & UPWARD BOUND II
WHO DO WE SERVE?
The CSU Upward Bound Programs select eligible students who come from low-income families where neither parent has bachelors degrees. Upward Bound students are characterized as intelligent, yet for a variety of reasons, have not had sufficient academic preparations or the opportunity to realize their academic potential. Test scores and grades are used, but selection is based on subjective evaluations by school counselors, teachers, and student and parent interviews conducted by the Upward Bound administrative staff.

Who Can Apply?
Students may apply when completing the eight grade, or during the ninth and tenth grades. New student selection is conducted each fall and spring semester. Upon acceptance, students make a commitment to remain in the program until they graduate from high school.
