Professional Development Curriculum for Teachers of Middle Level
Learners
Course
Module Overview
These courses are designed to help teachers of middle level learners
meet specific content learning standards. The courses may be offered in
workshop or web-enhanced environments in which teachers may elect to
earn graduate credit-bearing hours or Credit for Professional
Development Units (CPDUs) needed for the re-certification process.
These courses may be offered in variable credit based on the ratio in
which 1 graduate credit hour equals 15 CPDUs. Each course may be
repeated under different module (section) numbers that correlate to
specific content learning standards up to the equivalent of 12 graduate
credit bearing hours or 180 CPDUs. For example -- MIDS 412 A (412.01),
412 B (412.02), 412 C (412.03), etc. would meet the Illinois Learning
Standards 12A, 12B, 12C, etc.; respectively. A teacher who completes a
whole sequence of section modules will have met all the standards
needed to reach highly qualified re-certification credentialing
criteria.
