Chicago State University has approximately thirty-nine (39) smart classrooms on campus. If you find that our smart classroom equipment is not functioning as it should please click here to send an e-mail to us regarding this problem.

Each classroom contains a podium which holds the following equipment.

• (1) PC
• (1) Projector
• (1) Document Camera
• (1) Mimio Handwriting Recognition Capture Device
• (1) Mimio Eraser
• (4) Mimio Markers
• A set of dry erase markers
• (1) whiteboard eraser
• (1) bottle of whiteboard cleaner

Each Internet ready PC contains the following software:

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & Publisher)
• Internet Explorer
• DVD software
• Adobe Reader
• Windows Media Player
• Real Player
• Mimio Handwriting recognition software

Smart Classrooms create new opportunities in teaching and learning by integrating networking, digital, and audio visual technologies.

The Department of Technology & Learning Resources supports the technology in these rooms and encourages you to contact us at (773) 995-2285 to schedule a brief training orientation session to learn more about these technology enhanced classrooms. During the brief training session instructors will learn how to properly use the equipment after which a key to the podium will be assigned.

It is our goal to provide equipment that work consistently for all users of Smart Classrooms. We highly recommend you test the computer in advance of your first class to ensure that the available software will meet your needs.
