Mission
The mission of the Campus Life Board is to ensure that events
held in the Student Union Building are designed to provide a variety
of social, cultural, recreational, educational activities, programs
and events. The campus activities, programs and events approved
by the Campus Life Board are intended to serve a diverse student
body to include, commuter, residential and evening students.
Purpose
The Campus Life Board is designed to coordinate
student activities through collaboration between students clubs,
Greek organization, SGA, the Office of Campus Life, and the Division
of Student Affairs.
Responsibilities
Approving activities and programs
Oversight for planning major events, i.e., homecoming, etc.
Oversight for Calendar of Activities for clubs and organizations.
Providing guidance on student clubs and organizations' policies
and procedures.
Reviewing clubs and organizations constitutions or guidelines.
Serving as liaison to campus advisors.
Overseeing clubs and organizations judicial process.
Provide linkage between student affairs and academic affairs relative
to student development and learning.
Membership
The Campus Life Board is comprised of students
and student affairs' administrators. Recommendations for student
participation on the Campus Life Board must be submitted by any
member of a club or organization and must be submitted to the
Assistant Provost for Student Affairs for approval. Students appointed
to the Campus Life Board must be in good academic standing and
be an active member of a club or organization.
Role of the Chairperson
The Campus Life Board chairperson is a student
affairs administrator appointed by the Assistant Provost for Student
Affairs to administer and facilitate the Board's activities.
Role of the Co-Chairperson
The Campus Life Board co-chairperson is a member
of the Student Government Association recommended by SGA and appointed
by the Assistant Provost for Student Affairs to assist with the
administration and facilitation of the Board's activities.
Role of the Secretary
The Campus Life Board secretary is responsible
for providing clerical assistance to the co-chairperson by maintaining
notes and records of the Board's meetings and activities.
Role of the Financial Advisor
The Campus Life Board Financial Advisor provides
oversight for the budgeting process.
