Prelaw Education at Chicago State University

Chicago State University offers a number of courses and activities designed to prepare students for law school.  At CSU, there is no specific major in "pre law."  Unlike fields such as medicine, law schools do not require a particular major; the most common majors are political science, English, history, economics, psychology, and accounting/finance, but many other majors are also represented.  Our students are urged to major in a challenging field they enjoy, supplementing their major coursework with additional English classes, philosophy classes, economics classes, and any other courses stressing development of strong writing and critical thinking skills
