CSU Students at the State Capitol

Representatives of the CSU student body including the Student Government Association, the CSU Honors College and students participating in the Public Policy Scholarship Program recently traveled to the State Capitol in Springfield to represent CSU, meet with legislators and encourage them to support our University and increase state funding for higher education.

Students meet with several lawmakers including State Rep. Marcus Evans, a CSU alumni, and State Sen. Donne Trotter, a longtime supporter and friend of the University.

By meeting face-to-face with the students that CSU serves, lawmakers got a first-hand view of the impact CSU has on our community and the importance of ensuring that CSU can continue providing quality academic opportunities on the south side of Chicago.
