The measurable goal of the CSU RISE Program is to increase the numbers of graduates who are successful in being admitted to academic graduate programs that lead to a biomedical Ph.D. degree. In the ten-year period prior to the start of the RISE Program in 1999 an average of one graduate per year was accepted to an academic doctoral program. Since the start of the RISE program we have proudly witnessed a steady increase in these numbers. In each of the past four years, six or seven RISE graduates have matriculated to biomedical Ph.D. or Ph.D. bridge programs.
