2013 LS-AMP Spring Symposium and Conference in STEM, Lisle, Illinois, February 15-16, 2013.
The theme for this Midwest regional conference was "Cultivating Excellence: Re-establishing Preeminence in STEM." It consisted of workshops and presentations from undergraduates and graduate students from 9 universities, 5 community colleges and 1 government laboratory. 2012 ABRCMS Conference, San Jose, CA, November 7-10.
This national conference is designed to encourage students to pursue advanced training in the biomedical sciences. The conference is sponsored by The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) celebrating its 50th year and managed by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM). Illinois Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, 2012 Spring Symposium & Research Conference in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics, Chicago, Il, February 3-4.

2011 ABRCMS Conference, St. Louis, MO, November 9-12.
This national conference is designed to encourage students to pursue advanced training in the biomedical sciences. The conference is sponsored by The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) and managed by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).
Two RISE students and one alumna presented their research at the conference. Current RISE student Rosa Garcia was awarded a citation and prize for the best presentation in her field of immunology. |

The Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) is a national conference designed to encourage students to pursue advanced training in the biomedical sciences. ABRCMS is sponsored by The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), Division of Minority Opportunities in Research Program (MORE) and managed by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).
