CCA Q&A
Port-Authentication
Port-authentication means that you have to login to access the network.
The port-authentication will be clientless, which means that no additional program installation will be required. However, if you want, you can download and install CCA Agent.
When you bring up a browser, it will be redirected to a login page. You accept the security certificate and log into the network using your email ID and password.
What areas are the port authentication enabled
The whole campus is enabled.
What issues are there
Using email alias as ID and forgetting password are two main issues.
Your email ID is the one less than or equal to eight letters. There is no hyphen in the email ID.
If you don't remember your password, please ask the ITD help desk at extension 3963 to reset your password in advance.
I am using a Macintosh
Most issues about Windows have been resolved. Small number of Macintosh has security certificate issue. Those Mac need to import certificate before run Clean Access.
Since we have two servers for failover purpose, you will need to import two certificates.

IE 6.0; Netscape 6.0; Sofari 1.2; and Firefox are supported.
IE 7 beta is not supported when CCA Agent is installed.

Do I have to login everyday
Yes. The sesstion time-out is 16 hours.

You have personal firewall that blocks network ping. Response to ping is required for Cisco Clean Access to determine whether you turned off your machine or just sitting idle.
