Banner on the Web

It is now possible to access the Banner production database from any computer which is connected to the Web.

To get started in:

Windows:

1. Open the Web browser, preferably using Internet Explorer 6.0.

2. Type the following URL http://banner7.csu.edu/.  The system will prompt the user to install a Java Initiator program the first time. (There is an install wizard to take you through a couple of steps - if in doubt, just accept the default suggestions.)

You will be prompted for your user id, password and database - just like signing into a regular network Banner session.

(Note: If you are using Netscape, you may be required to close the browse,r re-open the browser and type the URL. (http://banner7.csu.edu))

MacIntosh:

1. Open the Web Browser

2. Type the following URL http://banner7.csu.edu/ to download the Mac version of the Java Initiator: http://developer.apple.com/java/download.html.

3. Acknowledge any Alert Boxes that pop up. (It may or may NOT be necessary to close the browser at this point).

4. After installing the program, type the following URL to access Banner: http://webform.csu.edu/mac.html

You will be prompted for your user id, password and database - just like signing into a regular network Banner session.
