Rules and Policies For Vendors and Book Festival Applicants
Dear Vendor:
The Gwendolyn Brooks Center for Black Literature and Creative Writing at Chicago State University invites you to participate in our 17th Annual Gwendolyn Brooks Conference on Black Literature and Creative Writing. Spaces are available Thursday, October 18, 2007, from 8:00 am. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 20, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All spaces will be located in the Cordell Reed Student Union Building. We will provide you with one 8-foot table and two chairs. Items must be displayed within the space guidelines. Vendors are allowed to skirt and decorate their tables.
If you are interested in selling your merchandise at the conference, please forward your check or money order for $165.00 (per table) payable to:
Chicago State University, Gwendolyn Brooks Center, 9501 S. King Drive, LIB 210A, Chicago, IL 60628.
Enclosed is a Vendor’s Application and Agreement Form that must be submitted with your payment. A receipt of confirmation will be mailed to you upon receipt of your payment. The vendor fee does not include access into any events for the conference. Registration deadline is October 4, 2007.
Vendors will report to the Cordell Reed Student Union Building- Cougar Hut area for registration on Thursday, October 18, 2007. Each vendor at your station will receive three wristbands (1 for each day), which MUST be worn during the entire conference.
Vendors must display exchange and/or refund policy in visible areas. Advertisement of vendors is the responsibility of the vendor. Due to limited space, we cannot re-arrange tables, provide individual preference for table location, nor can we provide additional spacing. Please note space is available on a first come first serve basis. I encourage you to reserve your area as soon as possible.
Please note meals are not included however; there are eating facilities at the Thompson Hospitality Cafeteria on-site and other restaurants within the area of the campus.
