IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CONTINUING/REPEAT

STAFFORD AND GRADUATE PLUS LOAN BORROWERS

The Office of Student Financial Aid has undertaken the move toward a more paperless environment. This undertaking will necessitate that any continuing/repeat borrower again complete an on-line Debt Management Loan Counseling Session (a/k/a Entrance Interview), even if he/she has completed such a session as recently as June 30, 2007.

NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE TO THIS REQUIREMENT

(If you completed a Debt Management Loan Counseling Session during

the 2007-2008 school year you do not have to do it again.)

ENTRANCE COUNSELING

Your loan(s) will not be processed until you have completed

the appropriate Entrance Counseling session.

Federal Stafford Loan ENTRANCE Counseling

A student who applies for a Stafford Loan must complete an Entrance Counseling session (a/k/a Entrance Interview) before his/her application will be processed. This requirement must be completed on-line.

Federal Graduate PLUS Loan ENTRANCE Counseling

A student who applies for a Graduate PLUS Loan must complete an Entrance Counseling session (a/k/a Entrance Interview) before his/her application will be processed. This requirement must be completed on-line.

Combined Federal Stafford and Federal Graduate PLUS Loan ENTRANCE Counseling

A student who applies for both a Stafford Loan and Graduate PLUS Loan may complete this combined Entrance Counseling session (a/k/a Entrance Interview), if he/she desires, rather than the individual sessions described above, before his/her applications will be processed. This requirement must be completed on-line.

EXIT COUNSELING

You will not be able to receive an academic transcript or participate in the graduation

ceremony until you have completed the appropriate Exit Counseling session.

Federal Stafford Loan EXIT Counseling

Every student who receives a Federal Stafford Loan(s) must complete an Exit Counseling session (a/k/a Exit Interview) when he/she graduates or stops attending school on at least a half-time basis. This requirement must be completed on-line.

Federal Graduate PLUS Loan EXIT Counseling

Every student who receives a Federal Graduate PLUS Loan(s) must complete an Exit Counseling session (a/k/a Exit Interview) when he/she graduates or stops attending school on at least a half-time basis. This requirement must be completed on-line.

Combined Federal Stafford and Federal Graduate PLUS Loan EXIT Counseling

Every student who receives a Federal Stafford Loan(s) and/or a Federal Graduate PLUS Loan(s) must complete an Exit Counseling session (a/k/a Exit Interview) when he/she graduates or stops attending school on at least a half-time basis. If you received both loans you may complete this combined Exit Counseling session if you desire, rather than the individual sessions described above. This requirement must be completed on-line.
