NSPACE 2008 Summer Program

Chicago State University is pleased to announce the 2008 NASA Students Pursuing Academic and Career Excellence (NSPACE) Summer Research Program. The NSPACE Program at Chicago State University is a partnership with NASA, Spellman College, Texas Southern University and the Chicago Public Schools.  It is a pre-college program designed to provide high school students with research experience and to expose them to professional opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

The goals of the NSPACE Program are:
1. to provide pre-college students with the tools necessary to understand the scientific process.
2. to assist students in developing critical thinking skills.
3. to help students develop a competitive science fair project.
4. to convince students to take more mathematics and science as a part of their high school curriculum.

The program will increase students’ awareness of career opportunities in STEM fields in order to facilitate the selection of a STEM major in college
