Facts
According to the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education, (1999), commuter students accounted for over 87% of college students in the U.S.
Who are Commuter Students?
Commuter students are those who do not live in campus housing. They share common issues such as jobs and families, transportation time, the importance of integrating their support systems into the collegiate world, and developing a sense of belonging on campus. The fact that they commute to college profoundly affects the nature of their educational experience.
Who are Evening Students?
Students who have at least one class after 4:00 p.m. are classified as evening students.
