Chicago State University

Project SUCCESS EOC offers workshops and activities in large and small groups. These workshops may be offered on the campus of Chicago State University or at other sites by request.

Informational Sessions

Whenever you plan on enrolling in school, this meeting is designed to provide guidance on the admissions and financial aid process. This includes educational loan default counseling, as well as scholarships.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Completion

If you need financial aid to pursue your educational goals, this workshop is for you. We will help you fill out your financial aid forms as well as explaining what papers you will need to bring with you in order to complete your financial aid forms.

Welcome Back: Re-entry Resources & Referrals for Returning Citizens

This workshop is designed to provide program participants/potential participants who are formerly incarcerated with tools and resources for re-entering society and furthering their education.

Beyond the Fear

This seminar is designed for participants who have been out of school for at least ten years. The invited facilitators are returning college students who, through answering questions and sharing information, will help move potential college students beyond the fear and into the classroom.

Participants/potential participants in need of a GED are provided with resources to assist them with taking the initial steps towards finding and enrolling in a GED program. Participants are assigned a counselor who works with them one-on-one through the GED enrollment and completion process. Upon successfully passing the GED exam, counselors are prepared to work with participants to secure post-secondary enrollment when desired. Participants receive a free "Complete PreGED Preparation" book, focusing on: Language Arts, Writing & Reading, Social Studies, Science, & Mathematics.

Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) Visits

To assist with reducing recidivism, Project SUCCESS has committed to providing program services to those who are currently incarcerated at various IDOC facilities throughout the state. Information about Project SUCCESS services, as well as assistance with the completion of college admissions and financial aid forms is offered to participants who have been identified as program eligible, with a release date within the next 12 months. Participants are provided with a "Welcome Letter," plan of action, as well as in-office or phone appointments to assist them with finalizing their college enrollment. GED placement services are also offered, as needed.
