Online Education Mission Statement

The Mission of Online Education at Chicago State University (CSU) is to provide access to persons desiring to acquire post-secondary and graduate knowledge independent of place and location and to earn credentials valuable to academic institutions and employers. To achieve this goal CSU endeavors to offer quality course development and support services for faculty and students involved in distance learning; to coordinate the development and delivery of asynchronous and/or synchronous online education degree programs and courses; and to ensure the quality of distance learning through rigorous efforts and continuous improvement.

National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA)

Chicago State University received approval in Spring, 2018 from the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) to participate in the National Council for State Authorization and Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).  This permits online programming to  be offered to students in other states provided their university is also part of SARA. CSU and Illinois are part of the SARA Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC). Participating states, educational institutions and other information about the agreement can be found at https://nc-sara.org/directory
