2006/2007 Award Recipients

For the second year, Dean Balogun has presented an award to a distinguished member of the College of Health Sciences' Community Advisory Board. During the Tenth Annual College of Health Sciences Induction ceremony, held May 10, 2007, Dean Balogun presented Community Advisory Board member, Dr. Annie Lawrence Brown with the 2006/2007 Service Award in recognition of her meritorious service to the College of Health Sciences. Dr. Lawrence Brown is one of the pioneer members of the Board, which was created in 2000.

Each year, during the College of Health Sciences' Induction Ceremony Dean Balogun presents theTeacher of the Year Awards

to distinguished faculty. Students in each academic department submit an anonymous ballot nominating the instructor of his/her choice. The 2006/2007 award recipients are:
Health Information Administration Teacher of the Year Ms. Barbara Price
Health Studies Teacher of the Year Dr. William Ebomoyi
Nursing Teacher of the Year Ms. Kimberly McInytre
Occupational Therapy Teacher of the Year Ms. Sarah Austin

Each year, during the College of Health Sciences' Induction Ceremony Dean Balogun presents the Administrator and Grant Writer of the Year Awards to distinguished faculty. The 2006/2007 award recipients are:
Administrator of the Year Dr. Patricia Prendergast
Grant Writer of the Year Dr. Patricia Sloan

Each year, during the College of Health Sciences' Induction Ceremony the academic departments recognize a graduating senior student who has either made academic improvements, engaged in scholarship, provided service to the department or profession, or who has demonstrated great academic excellence or professional development. The following students are recognized for the 2006/2007 academic year:

Nursing Scholarship & Service Ms. Cindy Okolo
Occupational Therapy Professional Development Ms. Dana Kyle

This year, during the College Commencement Ceremony, Dean Balogun recognized three students for their academic excellence. Academic Excellence is exemplified by a student who graduates with a grade point average of 3.5 or better. The Award for Academic Excellence goes to the student in the following three department who has earned the highest grade point average. The following students have earned the award for the 2006/2007 academic year:
