Mission
The mission of the HIV/AIDS Research and Policy Institute (HARPI) is to address the disproportionate incidence and complex burdens of HIV/AIDS in minority populations through research and policy.

Vision
The HIV/AIDS Research and Policy Institute will serve as a center of research excellence. It will also serve as a center for training and capacity building for community-based organizations and agencies.

The Institute currently draws from the expertise and intellectual talents of Chicago State University faculty and researchers in public health, behavioral and biological sciences, population-based needs assessment, program evaluation, communication and social marketing. The Institute works to facilitate research, policy analysis, and service that are culturally sensitive and responsive to the complexities of HIV/AIDS that fuel the epidemic in minorities, particularly within African American populations.
