Welcome to the College of Health Sciences. To address the demand for highly qualified health professionals, we offer a diverse set of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The College of Health Sciences offers baccalaureate degrees in health information administration, nursing, pre-physical therapy, pre-occupational therapy and community health, and a minor in health sciences. The College also offers a post baccalaureate certificate in health information administration, and Master degree programs in occupational therapy, public health and nursing.
The College of Health Sciences is committed to preparing competent, caring and compassionate community health educators, health information administrators, registered nurses, advance practice nurses, occupational therapists and public health practitioners ready to address the demands of a dynamic health care environment. As stated in the College mission, we are dedicated to educating a non-traditional student body, many of whom are underrepresented in the healthcare professions to become leaders and advocates in reducing health disparities and promoting innovative healthcare solutions locally, nationally and globally.
As you explore the specifics of each program, you will see that the faculty of the College of Health Sciences embraces the principles of interprofessional education, service learning and evidence-based practice as a foundation to quality healthcare education. Healthcare is a demanding yet exciting and rewarding field of study and practice. I am certain that you will agree that Chicago State University provides exceptional healthcare programs that are making a vital contribution to healthcare delivery in our community and across the nation.
